Kimberton Waldorf School, founded in 1941, is the second oldest Waldorf School in North America. Director of Development –Spring 2013

Kimberton Waldorf School, a Pre-K through Grade 12 independent school, located in Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking a Director of Development.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualities:

• Experience in fundraising, preferably in a private school
• A strong commitment to independent education and familiarity with Waldorf education and its principles
• Success in setting and meeting fundraising goals, specifically in all aspects of annual giving campaigns
• Focus on major gift solicitation and know and experience identifying and cultivating prospects
• Management of all aspects of donor stewardship including tracking, reporting, and database development and management
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate the mission, vision, and merits of the School effectively both orally and in writing for internal and external audiences
• Experience creating fundraising publication, plans and written materials
• Leadership abilities in managing volunteers and committees
• Excellent work ethic and an appreciation for collaborative working
• Knowledge and experience in organizing a capital campaign, planned giving programs and corporate sponsorships, desired, but not necessary
• A prevailing sense of optimism, a “can-do” attitude, an outgoing personality, and strong relationship-building skills

• Bachelor’s Degree (graduate degree preferred)
• Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends
