Thoroughly Modern Millie
A Thank You from the Producers!
Students rocked the Kimberton Waldorf School stage with four outstanding performances of Thoroughly Modern Millie! The level of talent impressed the audience. Adults and children alike beamed with enthusiasm for this production. Many folks have commented on the hard work and level of commitment that goes into making such a successful musical. Students, parents, faculty, and staff worked together to make this a special and fun event.
The students, crew, and orchestra did such an amazing job! Students were 100% responsible for the fabulous perspective staircase and cityscape backdrops from design through to completion. Eighth grade students played alongside HS students in the orchestra. Cast members in large and small roles showcased their musical and comedic talents. Students participated in stage and tech crew, hair and make-up, set building, costuming, and fundraising. All in all – a huge group effort!
Musical director James Corkum '04 commends the students for their increased level of involvement in all areas of the production. This added involvement by students made the musical feel a bit more personal, a bit more theirs, and a bit more unique. It was a special experience for the cast and crew alike.
We most especially enjoyed working with the students and sharing in their positive energy. It is remarkable that such a small school as KWS can produce such amazing talent! We wish to express our appreciation for the great maturity and leadership the students have shown throughout the entire production.
Thank you all for sharing in the excitement and joy of the musical! It was a Thoroughly Wonderful Experience!
