Led by the Morning and Afternoon Assistants, Full-Day Kindergarten children come together in the White Rose room and share a family style organic hot meal provided by our school lunch program, Food for Thought. The children then transition into the Red Rose room for a quiet rest time. The room is made cozy with individual cots, pillows, sheets, and soft blankets to rest in. The children hear peaceful lyre music or a gentle lullaby as they unwind and rest from their morning activities.
Following rest time, we play outside weather permitting until the Full-Day program ends at 3:10 pm. The day can then extend with the Aftercare Program until 5:30 pm, under the care of the same familiar teacher. Rhythm is an essential component in Waldorf Early Childhood programs, and at Kimberton Waldorf School, we have created a gentle, healthy rhythm for the day that is, above all, a consistent one. A loving bridge from morning to afternoon, the Full-Day Program provides children with a familiar environment and the care of experienced, Waldorf-trained teachers.
