Our Rosebud Parent-Toddler Class offers an opportunity for parents, grandparents and caregivers and their children to come together once a week in a warm, homelike setting that nurtures and values living a rhythmical life. Under the guidance of an Early Childhood teacher, we will share insights about life with a toddler through lively class discussions. Together, we will learn how to observe and assess a child's needs at different developmental stages and find ways to support the child's natural growth. A study book will be provided for our discussions. The class will also include time for simple songs and finger plays as well as a group snack.
This group is for parents and their children who come to school together. Eligible children are no older than three, by September 1. It provides an opportunity for parents to meet and work together while the children play. This group meets at the Rosebud Children's Garden on Hickory Grove Road on Fridays from 10:00 - 12:20. The program has a maximum of 12 children. Younger siblings of eligible children are invited to attend with the parent.
Our Parent-Child circle offers an opportunity for children to discover the world in a special setting with their families. Parents, grandparents or caregivers and their young child come together once or twice a week in a nurturing, home-like environment under the guidance of Early Childhood teacher, Chinyelu Kunz. Our daily rhythm includes making bread for our morning tea, domestic activities, free-play, seasonal circle games and songs, storytelling and puppetry. For the adults, we offer crafts and observation of the children in quietude. An honoring of the young child's imaginative capacity in play sets a mood of wonder, reverence and enthusiasm for tasks at hand. We strive to support parents in strengthening their parenting skills and in creating a healthy and joyful home life.
For children ages 2 - 4 years of age. Classes are held Monday - Friday from 8:00-12:10pm (Half Day) or 8-3:10pm (Full Day). Children can attend 1 - 5 days a week, and extended day options are available from 3:10 - 6:00pm.
In our Rosebud Garden, great care has been taken to create a warm and home-like setting and to provide a beautiful environment where the children’s senses are nurtured. For the young child, learning takes place by example rather than by instruction, as they learn through imitation. The young child learns about life by engaging in many practical household activities such as washing dishes, sweeping and cleaning up to name a few. We incorporate activities such as baking, painting, gardening and ample creative free play to encourage joyful learning and imagination. Studies show that play, in the early years, is the key to success in school by providing cognitive, social emotional, physical and moral development. In our Rosebud Garden the children are held by rhythm, surrounded by beauty, carried by wonder and respect for all life! Parent evenings focusing on child development are held seasonally during the school year.
