Little Gnome Village Kick-Off Meeting

Thursday, October 10, 8:15 am in the Parent Hub

Each December, Kimberton Waldorf School hosts a juried Craft Show where many artists and craftsmen showcase their talents. Not only is the Craft Show a lovely showcase of local talent and wonderful place to do your holiday shopping, but it is a fundraiser for the J. Terry Neville Scholarship Fund. On this special day there are many other activities set up around the school which help to make it an event the whole family can enjoy, even our little ones.

The Little Gnome Village is a magical experience that we will create as a gift to our young children. Essentially it is a children's marketplace in which they can 'shop' for small and simple gifts (made by the gnomes) that will be wrapped and ready for the children to give during the holiday season. It is our hope that creating the Gnome Village will be as enjoyable for all of the early childhood parents who volunteer as it will be for the children who participate.

So, we need your help. There are many aspects to the Gnome Village experience: the transforming of the room into a festive 'shop', the small treasures or gifts, the simple but thoughtful wrapping, and the cookie tree. Please consider your time, talents, and interests as there will be many different ways to get involved.

To kick things off, we will be holding meetings where we will gather to make our plan, discuss craft guidelines, and choose the manner in which we will all pitch in. Eileen will be leading the set-up and break-down of the space. Susan will be leading the crafting and inventory of the gifts. We are looking for a volunteer to lead the cookie tree project. We hope to see you there.

College Visit: Juniata College

Each year a number of college counselors visit our campus to present their college to interested Juniors and Seniors.  Parents may also attend theses meetings; call Mrs. Updike (610.933.3635 ext. 2) in the High School office for information on where the meetings will be held.  To attend one of these information sessions about college, Juniors or Seniors must complete a permission form (available in the High School Office) and return it to Mrs. Updike at least one day before the date of the college visit. Check with Mrs. Zay regarding schedule additions/changes.
