Gnome Village Crafting Circle

We will be holding a 'Crafting Circle' every Monday morning through December 2 to create the gifts for the Little Gnome Village. We will meet in the Garden Building from 8:00 to 10:00 am. Come enjoy a warm cup of tea and busy hands as we get to know one another a little better.

All of the materials used in the crafts should be in keeping with school guidelines as much as possible, meaning they are natural. We will be using wool felt, core wool for stuffing, dyed wool for wet felting, wood beads, glass beads, ribbon, embroidery thread, buttons, etc. If you have craft supplies please bring them along to any Monday Craft Circle or contact Susan at  to arrange a time for her to get them.

There are kits available now for those who could contribute by working on crafts at home. There is a large green bin at the end of the Kindergarten hall, near the Extra Lesson Room. Each kit is in a brown paper shopping bag, so you should be able to grab one without your little one noticing. Remember, we want to keep the magic of the experience alive for the children so please don't work on the crafts with your child or at a time when they may become curious about what you are working on. Please take a kit from the bin, get to crafting, and return the finished items along with any unused materials in the original bag back to the bin. I will be collecting finished kits and replenishing the bin with new kits ready to go home with you! For this first kit, there are a few materials that you will need to have on hand at home in order to complete; good scissors, sewing/embroidery needle, and crafting glue. For those who may need a refresher on the blanket stitch check out this tutorial: http://www.futuregirl.com/craft_blog/2007/9/tutorial-hand-sew-felt.aspx
