Eurythmy Teacher 2020-2021

Sep 6, 2019 | Employment

Kimberton Waldorf School (KWS) is looking for a Eurythmist to begin in the fall of 2020. Our present longstanding Lower School Eurythmy teacher will be retiring at the end of the 2019-2020 school year. The position is for Pre-Kindergarten, Lower School and Middle School.

The applicant should be trained in pedagogical Eurythmy, preferably with classroom experience and the ability to work with children with a range of abilities in the different age groups. For a suitable applicant, mentoring will be provided and/or the possibility of a time of apprenticeship. In addition to teaching, other duties would include recess supervision, some substitution lessons, attendance at section meetings and full faculty pedagogical meetings.

KWS has been fortunate to have had two experienced Eurythmy teachers who have worked together for over twenty years to establish a strong Eurythmy program throughout the school PreK-12th grades. We are committed to ensuring that Eurythmy continues to have a central place in the lives of our students and in the curriculum.

Kimberton Waldorf School was founded in 1941 and has a long history of providing Waldorf education in this area. There are a presently about 250 children in the school as well as a strong faculty dedicated to teaching and developing this education for the needs of the present day child.

We have a Eurythmy room with a sprung floor, a fine Steinway grand piano and excellent accompanists for the lessons.

Our school is situated on 430 acres of protected land including wonderful outdoor play spaces, athletic fields, a school garden, and trails through extensive woodlands. Seven Stars farm uses much of the land as well as a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). The area around Kimberton has a wealth of other Anthroposophical initiatives including several Camphill Centers, the Christian Community, an Anthroposophical medical center and an active Eurythmy performing group.
